When no horizontal or vertical managers are utilized in
the management system, the patch cords lie upon each other (figure 1)
in a compressed state. This compressed state at the equipment interface
(figures 2, 3) or lower tear patch panels also occurs when adequate patch-cord
mangers are used (figure 4). When applying proper horizontal and vertical
managers, the patch cords were diverted off the face of the patch panels
but not off the lower tear equipment ports or patch panel ports.
The horizontal and vertical managers did not correct patch-cord
slack problems or aesthetics of the management system.
